Portals and You


A quick MoM guide to what the heck this kid is doing





Portals are Max's signature power. He has a magic ten thousand year old magic artifact that can unlock a subdimensional roadway that can get him anywhere in the world 50 United States.

That artifact is his baseball cap. Just roll with it.

The portals are only active when the Cap is within a few meters; Once it's out of range, the portal closes in seconds. They're all one-way and in fixed locations, and there generally isn't much of a logical connection between points A and B -- they can show up just about anywhere.

Things To Know:
  • At this time, in-game, Max isn't creating portals, they are already in place he is finding them.
  • The portals are all one-way. You cannot re-enter a portal after you've exited.
  • The portals are in fixed locations, meaning they are relative to the Earth itself and cannot be moved. A portal could be located on the wall of a building, but even if the building is knocked down, the portal will still be there in midair.
  • The portals are permanent. At this time, in-game, there is no way to destroy a portal; It will always be there and can be opened provided Max has the Cap (or someone else has the Cap, and it's sufficiently charged.) The portal can be prevented by nullifying the Cap's effect somehow, but the portal itself cannot be removed or closed.
  • Only the Cap can open these particular portals, or someone who has managed to copy/duplicate the Cap and its effects.
  • The Cap is indestructible. Magic and all that.
